WBR Empowerment Legacy Foundation is more than a nonprofit—it is a living legacy.

Founded in honor of Walter B. Ridley—a visionary leader, compassionate reformer, and lifelong advocate for justice—we exist to walk alongside individuals and families impacted by incarceration, offering support, dignity, and second chances.

At the heart of our work is a deep commitment to restoring lives, honoring humanity, and rewriting what’s possible for justice-impacted individuals and their families.

We serve:

  • Men and women returning home from incarceration, helping them rebuild their lives with mentorship, practical support, and hope.
  • Children, teens, and families of justice-involved individuals—because we know that incarceration touches everyone in the household.
  • Young people who have been detained or incarcerated and are seeking a new path forward—we meet them with compassion and guidance.

Whether we’re delivering care packages, leading healing-centered workshops, mentoring returning citizens, or amplifying the stories of justice-impacted communities—everything we do is guided by love, dignity, and legacy.

We also provide emergent and discretionary funding on a case-by-case basis—offering tangible support when critical needs arise, and ensuring that no one in our care feels unseen during moments of transition or crisis.
